Battle of The Liquid Lipsticks!

Hi guys! I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much but I’m back! In todays post I will be comparing the top 10 most popular liquid lipsticks (in order from best to worst). If you're interested in finding the best liquid lipstick for you, keep on reading.

1) Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick
I love, love, love this liquid lipstick. I cannot get enough of this liquid lipstick, the formula is so creamy and glides on like butter on a hot pan. It really minimizes the appearance of lines in your lips and doesn't crack throughout the day. The color selection is also really nice and the nudes, oh the nudes. This is definetely my most preffered and used liquid lipstick out of my collection. (Just be sure to prep your lips before using this product for the best finish)

2) Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint
Technically not a liquid lipstick but lets let it slide because it is so darn stunning! This ‘liquid’ lippie is everything I (and most likely you) have ever looked for. It is soo creamy and glides on to your lips so well. It will leave no streaks, flakes or accentuated creases (other than the ones that are naturally accentuated). The finish of this product is completely matte and I would describe the formula as a comfy matte. It feels weightless on your lips and is hydrating. I strongly advise you to purchase this product; all you need to do is look past the price tag!

3) Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick
This is such a beautiful matte liquid lipstick and one of my favorites. The formula is so thin and dries quickly but doesn't dry out your lips and sits very comfortably. The finish is extremely matte and it comes with a beautiful color range. Plus, the packaging is super sleek and for $20, it's definitely worth it!

4) OFRA Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick
Words can’t explain how much I adore this product. It is so affordable yet the formula, finish, packaging, longevity and color range is truly surprising. There is really not much to say about this lipstick other than, purchase it!!

5) Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick
This is one of the products that don’t get enough hype.  It is a liquid lipstick with a beautiful formula; smooth, doesn’t dry your lips, non-accentuating. The longevity of this product is truly amazing; it will stay on for hours and can bear (slightly) oily food and drinks. However, it is pricey and has a limited color selection.

6) Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick
There has been a lot of controversy about Lime Crime (which I will input later) but I think their products are great, especially this one. This lipstick has a very nice coverage (pigmentation) and does not dry out your lips. It glides on really nice onto your lips and coming from someone who has many lines and creases on their lips, it looks smooth on your lips and does not accentuate lines/creases. On the other hand, there is inconsistency in the quality of their products; some of their batches are patchy, streaky and dry. I believe that the situation is under control now but watch out for retailers who continue to sell the bad batches.

7) Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip
This product has quite some hype but in my opinion I don’t think it is worth it. Yes, the price is great and it has a beautiful color range but; it’s drying, it creases and the colors are very different to what they market it as. The last time I used one of the colourpop ultra matte lip’s, my lips started bleeding because it literally sucked the life out of my lips. This was even when I thoroughly prepped my lips and moisturized them. The only good that I have to say about this product is that it has really good longevity that, unfortunately, means it is a pain to remove.

8) Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick
I find that these liquid lipsticks are very overhyped. Yes, the packaging is amazing, the finish is super matte, the color range is amazing and its decently priced. But, it is so drying that it makes your lips sore, the stay power is pretty average and it is a pain to take off. Yes, it may be a good thing that it's difficult to take off as it means that it stays on for pretty long but my lips actually hurt from rubbing the liquid lipstick off. Another negative is that it's also streaky :(

9) Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick
In my opinion, this lipstick is so overhyped. I have never used a liquid lipstick that is as drying and line accentuating as this one. No matter how I use it, it makes my lips feel like the sahara desert and exaggerates my lines. At first, I thought it was my batch that was bad but i've tried a couple of other shades and it still turns out the same. It really doesn’t live up to the hype. This liquid lipstick may work for those with smoother lips as I do think that they look amazing on some youtubers/beauty gurus who have smooth, line-free lips.

10) Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick
Honestly, even though this liquid lipstick has a great formula and color range I will not be hyping it, as some of you may know, Jeffree himself has said some things that I find extremely rude, hypocritical and disrespectful.

If you’re reading this, thank you so much for staying through my unexpectedly long comparison of liquid lipsticks! If you enjoyed this post, follow me for more.

September Favorites

September Favorites

September was a blast of a month and during that month I explored many new products, some of which have become my absolute favorites. In this post I will show you guys my favorite products from September for each category (e.g.; primer, bronzer, foundation, etc.) and include a mini review.

Moisturizer: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
This moisturizer is for combination to oily skin and it is super hydrating and fast drying (in a good way). It helps reduce my oiliness throughout the day so that my makeup doesn't get oily yet, still keep me super hydrated.

Primer: Benefit Porefessional ($31)
This primer has been out for a while and has been hidden in my makeup stash but I have recently rediscovered it because my pores have been so freaking visible and big lately. This primer does such a good job at filling in my pores and keep my makeup in place.

Foundation: Too Faced Born This Way ($39)
This is my absolute HG foundation! The coverage can be altered so it's perfect for days when you don't need as much coverage or days when you need the coverage. The formula is so hydrating and contains substances that benefit your skin. It doesn't crease, split, flake or look cakey and gives a natural finish while still giving you good coverage. Love, love, love.. The packaging is so cute too!
Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me ($6.49)
Many people compare the Maybelline Fit Me concealer to the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer but I can't say much because I haven't tried the Nars concealer. This Maybelline concealer has a good consistency with a perfect coverage. It doesn't crease, flake or sink into lines. The color range is also really good for light-medium skin tones but for darker skin tones it doesn't have much choice. At $6.49, it is a bomb concealer!

Setting powder: Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder ($3.99)
Holy moly guacamole! This is such an amazing powder it is and always will be my HG powder! Essence is such an underrated brand. The quality is amazing and so much better than some high end products and it is dirt cheap. This powder does so well in controlling your oiliness and setting your liquid products so it doesn't crease or sink into your lines. I can't live without this powder!!!! (and the finish of this powder is super matte yet still natural)

Contour: Too Faced Dark Chocolate Soleil Bronzer ($30)
Technically this is a bronzer but it is perfect to contour. It isn't patchy or muddy and looks really good on the skin. It's perfect to sculpt your face naturally or really sharply. It is a matte yet natural finish as well! My only concern is that it's a bit pricey but hey, it smells like yummy chocolate.

Bronzer: Too Faced Sweet Tea Bronzer ($30)
This bronzer will make you glow and bronzed like a goddess. I love that there are two shades because I can use the lighter shades as a highlighter. This bronzer's formula is so beautiful and buttery and glides on your skin like butter on a hot pan (but it stays on). It gives you a beautiful bronzed finish and soooo perfect for any season, especially summer.

Blush: MAC Sheertone Blush in Gingerly ($23)
This blush is such a natural looking blush and for the price you get a lot of product but the best thing about this product is the color. This is a matte peach/ginger color that would suit all skin tones and gives you a perfect flush and look when you put too much. I would recommend not too put too much because then it looks very orange and harsh so be very gentle with the amount of product you apply on your face.

Highlighter: Mary Lou-Manizer ($24)
This is an oldie but a goodie and i've just started using this again. This is such an intense highlighter and a little goes a long way. This highlighter is so buttery and isn't chunky. It is also a perfect white color that surprisingly suits all skin tones. This highlighter is perfect for both day and night looks. Love, love, love!

Eye primer: Mac Studio Finish SPF+35 Concealer ($25)
Although this is not a primer, I am absolutely in love with using this concealer as my eye primer. It makes my eyeshadow stay in place the whole day/night and doesn't slide, especially on my oily lids.

Eyeshadow palette: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance ($42)
I had to stop myself from using this palette because I was going to hit pan on it in the first 2 months I actually managed to get my hands on it. The shade range is perfect for natural or dramatic looks. The formula is purely amazing and I can't get enough of the reddish shades. I won't go into much detail on this palette because I am planning on doing a separate review of this palette because I love it so damn much.

Eyebrow products: Essence Make Me Brow ($2.99)
This product is perfect for lazy days or people whom don't need filling in but only want to cover sparse areas. This is so affordable and the formula is perfect for volumizing, filling and keeping your brows in place. This brow product contains fibers and comes in two shades, it is a perfect dupe for the benefit gimme brow.

Mascara: Maybelline Original Lash Sensational Mascara ($8.99)
I'm going to be real quick with this one because I'm sure you've heard all about it. It's affordable, black, long-lasting, lengthening, volumizing and efficient.

Setting spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($30)
Once again, everyones heard about this product so I won't go too much into detail. This setting spray holds your makeup for so long, even when drenched in sweat, and controls oiliness.
